It’s an honor to have made the cut and to be the newest member of the team at Young American Wealth Management. Strong teams have been something I’ve been around for a good portion of my life. At the University of Oklahoma, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Athletic Administration and my Master of Education, I held a multitude of positions within the athletic department. I served as recruiting coordinator for the offense at the University of Michigan under Jim Harbaugh, and then as Assistant Athletic Director at Texas State University responsible for recruiting, player development, logistics, and planning.


As a Financial Professional with a Sports & Entertainment Accredited Wealth Management Advisor™ designation, I see a number of similarities between athletics and the performing arts starting with collaboration and consistency. Each member of the team has specific roles and responsibilities. At Young American, we seek and draw upon each other’s collective knowledge, experience, and insights, as well as those of our clients’ tax, legal, and business advisors in order to develop appropriate strategies to help achieve our clients’ objectives.


We follow a disciplined planning and wealth management process, and carefully review each client’s progress. Like a good coach or director, we are always looking for ways to adapt to fluid situations and to improve the manner in which we serve a very discerning audience.


Investing like athletics and entertainment can be very emotional. Excitement, pressure, stress, and uncertainty can intensify feelings that may lead to questionable, or even regrettable decision-making. That’s why we believe it’s critical to help our clients maintain their calm and composure especially when market volatility runs high; the financial news is filled with doom-and-gloom forecasts; and personal needs, circumstances, and objectives are in flux.

Moreover, as the son of an athletic trainer and a teacher, and the husband of a speech therapist, I’ve witnessed what’s possible when you truly care about others, when you’re a life-long learner teaching and inspiring others to learn, grow, and pursue their dreams, and when you communicate in a clear and concise manner, simplifying the complex without talking down to people or over their heads.


That’s why listening to my clients and understanding their unique situation is so important to me; why I’m committed to advanced training and ongoing professional development; and why I believe personal communication is the cornerstone of all successful advisor-client relationships.
