James has over 30 years’ experience helping business owners, professionals and high net worth individuals accumulate and preserve wealth. He focuses on understanding a client's unique needs, helping them plan for their future, avoid unnecessary risk and retiring in comfort. He creates personalized strategies to address specific needs, implements tailored solutions and meets regularly to review and monitor progress. He helps clients make well thought out and prudent financial decisions, with confidence. James recognizes that if his clients succeed, he succeeds.

He is also recognized as a retirement plan specialist. He helps clients design, implement and maintain top-notch 401(k), profit sharing, defined benefit and ESOP plans. James helps with ERISA compliance, vendor search, fee benchmarking, investment due diligence and employee education. James is a member of LPL Financials’ prestigious Retirement Plan Consulting Group.

James is an honors graduate from the University of San Diego and has done extensive industry specific studies. He has achieved designations as a Certified Financial Planner (College of Financial Planning, Denver Co), Chartered Financial Consultant (American College, Bryn Mawr, PA) and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (University of Pittsburg, Kats Graduate School).

In addition to providing a thorough analysis of a client's situation, he offers fee based asset management strategies (through Stratos Wealth Partners), ETF’s, mutual funds, alternative investments, and corporate and municipal bonds.

James resides in San Diego, CA with his beautiful wife, Maggie, and is father/step-father to Audrey, Robert, Diego, Sebastian, Ailey, Joey and Hudson. If that isn’t keeping him busy enough, he has a golden doodle, Tiki, and a Saint Bernard, Kobe. James is a past board member of Big Brothers San Diego, is a past president of his Rotary club and a past board member of International Relief Teams. When not working with clients, James enjoys reading, painting, fly-fishing, scuba diving and traveling.
