With over 27 years of experience in financial services, Tom Strohl is dedicated to helping individuals meet their financial needs by developing investment strategies around their long-term goals and risk tolerance. His broad experience — throughout major shifts in the markets — enables him to help his clients structure balanced portfolios to address their specific financial goals.
In 1985, after completing over five years of active duty as a US Naval Officer, Mr. Strohl affiliated with the Naval Reserves from which he ultimately retired with the rank of commander. Tom began his financial services career as an Investment advisor with Kidder Peabody & Co., Inc. In 1991, he joined A.G. Edwards & Sons, Inc., where he worked for 16 years before the firm merged with Wachovia Securities. Mr. Strohl worked with Wells Fargo Advisors since their 2008 acquisition of Wachovia. He has served both a local and national client base for his entire career and looks forward to helping them work toward their financial goals for many years to come.
Mr. Strohl earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance in 1980 on a NROTC full scholarship. In addition to applicable securities registrations and insurance licensing, he has also earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional (CFP®) designation from the College for Financial Planning. For this designation, Mr. Strohl had to complete approved educational programs, pass rigorous examinations and meet stringent experience requirements.
Mr. Strohl has been an active member of the Financial Analyst Society of San Diego in the past. Away from the office, he also enjoys music, mineral collecting, gardening and most of all family activities. He lives in San Diego with his wife, Sue and their children, Sarah and Jonathan.
